Urgent Notice: A Farewell and Request for Support, from the Board of Our Times
Dear Our Times Community,
It is with heavy hearts that we share some difficult news with you, our valued subscribers who have been an integral part of the Our Times family.
We are announcing the impending closure of Our Times. Over the years, we have worked hard to bring you thought-provoking stories and analysis of labour and social-justice issues. Your support has been invaluable to this mission.
Despite our best efforts, we face financial challenges that make it impossible to continue publishing. The decision to lay off staff and close Our Times has not been an easy one, but we believe it is the responsible choice, given our current circumstances. We are focussing our efforts now on paying outstanding debt and staff severance. And we are very grateful to those organizations and individuals who have made donations to help with these shut-down costs.
We now want to address the impact on individual subscribers. Let’s be frank: We don’t have the resources to refund every subscription. So we have a request for you, our community: If you are in a position to donate the remainder of your subscription, we kindly ask that you do so, as any donation amount will be useful and greatly appreciated. And if you need a refund of the unused portion of your subscription, please let us know by the end of March, 2024 by filling out the form reached by clicking on this link. We will do our best to fulfill all requests, to the extent of remaining resources.
We are deeply grateful for your unwavering support over the years. Our Times has been more than just a magazine; it has been a community of like-minded individuals committed to labour rights and social justice, and the memories we have created together will forever be cherished.
In the coming weeks, we will keep you updated on the status of the magazine's closure and any further developments. Once again, thank you for being a vital part of the Our Times family.
In solidarity and gratitude
The Our Times Family
