Our Times is looking for a Business Manager for Canada’s independent labour magazine.
The key priorities for the Business Manager will be generating and managing advertising contracts, managing subscriptions and circulation, and taking care of Our Times' financial operations including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, budgets, maintaining the books, regular financial reporting,grant applications and reporting to funders.
Our Times is a small print magazine and website with social media channels. It is run by a small team of committed individuals working remotely. Team members need to be self-starters who work independently, are flexible, good communicators, collaborative, welcome feedback, care deeply about social justice and have pro-worker, pro-union values.
The Business Manager needs to have bookkeeping and budgeting experience and thorough knowledge of bookkeeping and database software. Some experience of content management and circulation software would be preferred. Experience in or knowledge of Canada's labour movement is also an asset.

The position will start as a one-year, part-time contract, 20 hours per week, as soon as can be arranged. Hours of work will be reviewed within the year.
Candidates must be based in Ontario to meet funding requirements for the position. Preference will be given to Indigenous, Black and/or racialized candidates. Experience working with nonprofits is an asset.
